Toxic-Free Women and Families

Current laws are failing to protect women from the toxic chemicals in consumer products that build up in our bodies and harm our health—including the toxicants commonly found in personal care products like cosmetics, fragrance, and shampoo.

The Maine Women’s Policy Center acknowledges that these chemicals have a significant, negative impact on the reproductive health of women and girls, which is why the Maine Women’s Policy Center has launched action groups with young women ages 16-24 to advocate for policies to require safer personal care products, and compiled resources to keep out members informed about the impact of toxic chemical exposure on female health.
