When 100 8th grade girls descend on the State House for a day of hands-on involvement with Maine government, it is the time for Girls' Day at the State House. Our yearly program helps girls learn how to make an impact in their community.
Formerly, the Women's Leadership Action Coalition, the Coalition for Maine Women brings together over 20 organizations working toward improving the social, economic, and political status of women and their families. WLAC provides a formal venue for women's groups from across the state to network, strategize, share expertise, and discuss current and pending policies relevant to their interests.
